September First Friday, my mom, two of my sisters, and I headed to the beautiful Indiana Landmarks Center for the Indiana Artists Club Members' Exhibition! The Exhibition was displayed in the Rapp Family Gallery.
At seven the awards were announced! I was thrilled to receive third place for my drawing 'Look Back at the Light.'
The exhibition was lovely, featuring a wide variety of styles, mediums, and subject matter. It was so exciting to celebrate all of the artists and award winners there, to connect with friends and meet new people, and to spend an evening surrounded by art.
'Look Back at the Light' represents those times we all experience where we feel surrounded by darkness. In those moments that can feel hopeless and empty, it can bring immense comfort to 'look back at the light.' Whether that means remembering to keep looking to the future - not becoming lost in our difficulty, or to look back at the light in our past; those moments that held joy, comfort, and safety which continue to do so as we remember them.
